The Vienna-based jazz bassist and composer Gina Schwarz studied jazz bass and accordion at the Vienna Conservatory, jazz bass performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and bass popular music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Mag. art.), where she has been teaching since 2011. She can be heard in a wide variety of national and international projects as well as in numerous productions - also as a bandleader. In 2007 she received the HANS KOLLER Prize. She was nominated for the AmadeusAustrianMusicAwards 2022 in the JAZZ category and for the PREIS DER DEUTSCHEN SCHALLPLATTENKRITIK in WORLD MUSIC 2022.
